High Cholesterol Foods: Avoid at all costs
Food that tastes great is most often the food that is the worst for our health. High cholesterol foods are usually the most delicious to eat filled with flavor. Keeping an eye on your cholesterol is important preventing complications in the future. There are many foods to avoid keeping your cholesterol level where it needs to be or even lower.
High Cholesterol Foods to Avoid…
Oils and Saturated Fats is the easiest to learn. Butter is at the top of the list that is in almost everything you eat and tastes terrific. Unfortunately, it is very hard to eliminate completely being it is in so many different foods. When eating out at a nice restaurant, be aware that what makes the food taste great is usually the butter content. Moderate levels of butter can be consumed, however, substituting butter with yogurt butter or margarine will help reduce the risk. A helpful rule to remember is if you put food in the refrigerator and it then becomes a solid mass, usually this falls into the category of oils and saturated fats, high cholesterol foods. Using oils in fried foods is very unhealthy to eat. If a recipe calls for oil, use a little sunflower oil or olive oil which is a lower cholesterol oil. Deep fried foods using oils are of course unhealthy to consume. This would include any foods that are deep fried or fried using oil to cook with.

High Cholesterol Foods: Fatty Meats
Fatty Meats is another of the high cholesterol foods to avoid. Cutting off the fat prior to cooking will help keep the cholesterol level lower. Any processed meats will also raise your cholesterol level. Processed meats can contain just about anything and not all ingredients are listed on the packages.
High Cholesterol Foods: Chicken Skin
Chicken Skin that is seasoned tastes absolutely delicious to the palate; however that is the worst part of the chicken to consume. While chicken is great to lower cholesterol levels, the skin contains a high amount of cholesterol.
High Cholesterol Foods: Egg Yolks
Egg Yolks are one of the highest cholesterol foods you can eat. The eggs whites on the other hand are extremely good for you. Getting in a habit of only eating the egg whites will take some getting use to, but in the long run you will be eating much healthier.
High Cholesterol Foods: Fatty Milk
Fatty Milk such as the whole milk we grew up on has a high cholesterol content. It may be used in cheese or ice cream and even in soups. Drinking 1% milk or skim milk will keep your cholesterol levels lower.
When your cholesterol level exceeds the normal level is when problems may occur such as clogged arteries or even heart attacks. When arteries are clogged the strain on your heart increases. By eating healthy your body will feel better, you will have more energy and your heart will be happier. Overall eating healthier will make you feel better, improve your mood and prolong your life. Eating these foods just fouls up the system and in the end it’s all caused by high cholesterol foods.
